Wilderness TrailsWeekend Outing
Attached is the promo for a wonderful experience that I am sure most of us would really enjoy.
The Wilderness Leadership School is an initiative started by Dr. Ian Player to introduce people to the natural wonders of our landscape. The idea of the trails is to bring people closer to nature and to help them to find their connection to nature, and to people at the same time. The trails were started to take young leaders from all communities to help give them an understanding of the importance of our natural environment so that in future they may become better people as well as advocates for our heritage.
Today the trails are designed to give everyone the opportunity to experience nature at its best. Sleeping out in the bush will give you a feeling like nothing else. Especially when you hear a lion roar in the not so far distance! I have spoken to the school and have managed to arrange a couple of dates for us to participate in this experience in the Pilanesberg National Park, which is only 1.5 hours from Joburg. Depending on the response from our members we will add more trails or subtract as needed. Each trail takes a maximum of eight people. All food, pack and bedding is provided by the school. This is all included in the price for the two nights and three days. The prices are on the attached promo.
If anyone would like to participate or would like more info, please feel free to contact me.
Please note as this is a dangerous game area, the minimum age requirement is 15 years of age. Your fitness level does not need to be anything huge, just to be able to do about 8km of easy walking each day.
