As
a result of our earlier trip being cut short by the hard lockdown last
March, some of those on that trip have decided to redo part of it and
include a short trip to the Fish River Canyon in Southern Namibia.
For the Namakwa Eco Trail (3 nights) you will have to be completely self
sufficient as we will be wild camping next to the Orange River where we
will cool off each afternoon with a swim and sun downers in the river.
After roughing it, we will spend 2 nights at Oewerbos River Camp
relaxing in relative luxury with hot showers. We then cross over into
Namibia to spend 1 night on the opposite bank of the Orange River at
Boplaas before travelling up to the Gondwana National Park and explore
the Canyon region for 2 days. Our last night in Namibia we will
camp at Warmbad where there are hot springs. We cross back into SA at
Onseepkrans. On our trip back to Gauteng we will stop over at the
Augrabies Falls’ National Park where we will spend the night. In March
the falls should be spectacular! The next day we will visit the hot
pools at Riemvasmaak and the ruins of the old military camp before
proceeding to Redsands for our last night and farewell dinner.
